Luas security guard stabbed after intervening in row

He has been hospitalised but it is understood his injuries are not life threatening.

A LUAS SECURITY guard has been hospitalised with a stab wound after intervening in a row at Milltown last night.

An altercation broke out between a group of three men on the Milltown Luas station platform just before 8pm last night.

Two security men intervened, with one being stabbed. He was taken to St James’s Hospital where it is understood his injuries are not life threatening.

Another man, aged in his 30s, was also taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Gardaí arrested two men – one aged in his 20s, the other in his 30s – after the incident. They are being held at Rathmines Garda Station.

Investigations continue.
