Luas services to 3Arena affected after pedestrian hit by tram

The man has been taken to hospital.

LUAS SERVICES BETWEEN Smithfield and the Point on the Red line have been affected this evening after a tram struck a pedestrian.

It is understood the pedestrian’s injuries are not serious, but the collision will affect Luas passengers from the Point as far as Smithfield.

It is understood the male pedestrian was hit by an inbound tram between the Abbey and Busaras stops around 4.50pm this afternoon, near the Irish Life Mall.

The man has been taken to hospital.

A Luas spokesperson said that trams are running from Tallaght and Saggart as far as Smithfield, but will terminate there. Tickets will be valid on Dublin Bus services.
