Man dies after crash between car and truck on M18 in Co Clare

The crash happened at about 1.20 pm this afternoon.

A MAN IN his 60s has died after a crash between a car and truck on the Galway to Limerick motorway in Co Clare.

The deceased man was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The crash happened at about 1.20 pm on the southbound side of the M18 between junctions 12 and 13 near Ennis.

The scene of the crash is currently being preserved by garda collision investigators and local diversions are expected to remain in place until later this evening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065-6848100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111.
