Man dies after being struck by lorry on M50 motorway

The pedestrian was the only person injured in the collision.

A MAN HAS died after he was hit by a lorry on Dublin’s M50 motorway.

The collision happened at about 2.10pm this afternoon on the southbound side at junction 6 near Blanchardstown.

Nobody else was injured in the collision and the pedestrian’s body was taken to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

Two lanes were closed by gardaí to allow for a technical examination of the scene. They have now reopened as forensic investigators have left the scene.

Any witnesses to the fatal collision are being sought by gardaí.
