'Very heavy delays' after commuter crash on the M50

The crash has been cleared but delays remain.

“VERY HEAVY” DELAYS are to be expected on the M50 southbound after an earlier accident that has since been cleared.

The single-car crash happened between junction 7 Lucan and junction 9 the Red Cow with AA Roadwatch reporting that there were long delays back to junction 4 Ballymun.

Motorists were only passing the scene via the hard shoulder after several lanes were blocked but gardaí have said that it has now fully reopened.

Despite this, AA Roadwatch says that “very heavy delays” remain on the route. There are also knock-on delays on the N4 from Leixlip to the M50.

The northbound side of the M50 also experienced delays at junction 10 Ballymount due to onlookers, AA Roadwatch says.
