Man (22) killed after vehicle strikes stone wall

The man was killed after the incident occurred at around 2.20am today.

A YOUNG MAN has died following a single-vehicle collision in which his vehicle struck a wall in Co Meath.

Gardaí in Ashbourne, County Meath, are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on the R150 Duleek – Julianstown road, County Meath, at approximately 2.20am today.

The vehicle struck a stone wall. A man aged 22, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was conveyed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was pronounced dead.

The R150 remains closed at scene for forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was on the R150 Duleek – Julianstown road between 2am and 2.45am this morning to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-8010600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666111, or any garda station.
