Man arrested after cannabis plant seizure in Galway

Plants with a potential street value of up to €280,000 were recovered from a house in Tuam yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ IN GALWAY have arrested a man after seizing a number of cannabis plants were seized from a house in Tuam yesterday evening.

The house in Cummer, Tuam was searched yesterday evening at about 5pm by officers from the Galway Divisional Drug Unit, with the assistance of its national parent unit.

Subject to analysis, Gardaí believe the plants seized have a potential street value of up to €280,000.

The arrested man, who is in his early 30s, is being detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
