17-year-old arrested after An Post van is stolen

Gardaí in Lucan are appealing for witnesses after an unoccupied van was stolen in the Rosse Court area.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a broad daylight robbery of an An Post delivery van.

A 17-year-old male was arrested today after the van was stolen from the Rosse Court area of Lucan, Co Dublin.

The van was unoccupied when it was taken by a man on his own. The postman received what the Gardaí called “non-serious” injuries in attempting to retrieve the van and was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

Gardaí recovered the van shortly after it was stolen in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.

Gardaí at Lucan are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area of Rosscourt Grove, Lucan, Dublin, between 9.00 and 9.30am and Dunshaughlin Village, County Meath, between 10.00 and 11.00am, to contact them at Lucan Garda Station on 01-6667300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666111 or any Garda Station.
