Driver arrested after passenger killed in Tipperary crash

Gardaí arrested the young man this morning.

A 20-YEAR-old man has been arrested this morning after a man died in a road crash in Tipperary on Tuesday.

The man arrested is believed to be the driver of the car.

The front seat passenger, a 28-year-old man, died when the car hit a ditch in Clonmel in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to South Tipperary Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052 – 6177640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
