Man arrested after 'sophisticated' cannabis operations found in Mullingar

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after cannabis worth an estimated €180,000 was seized yesterday.

A MAN HAS been arrested after Gardaí uncovered two cannabis cultivation operations in Mullingar yesterday.

The 28-year-old man was arrested and is being held at Mullingar Garda Station after a search of houses in Ardleigh Park and Clonmore Heights in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

A total of 450 cannabis plants were seized and have an approximate street value of €180,000.

The seizures were part of an ongoing operation by the Divisional Drug Unit in Mullingar which was assisted by local Gardaí and the Regional Response Units during the operation.

Gardaí described the two houses as both having “sophisticated cultivation processes in operation”.
