Man arrested in connection with disappearance of Mayo woman

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of the 29-year-old in 2000.

A MAN HAS been arrested this morning in connection with the disappearance of Mayo woman Sandra Collins, who has been missing since December 2000.

Collins, 29, was last seen in a takeaway called the Country Kitchen in Killala, Co Mayo, on the night of 4 December 2000.

The man was arrested in the Ballina area this morning and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Ballina Garda Station.

A 21-year-old female who had been detained earlier in the week has been released without charge.
