Man arrested over murder of 50-year-old man in Belfast

Basil McAfee was found dead at a house in north Belfast on Friday afternoon.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old who was found dead in Belfast last Friday.

Basil McAfee’s body was discovered in a house on Henderson Avenue of north Belfast on 20 December. Police said they believed that he had been stabbed a number of times.

He had last been seen on the road by a relative the previous day.

A 34-year-old man was arrested today in south Belfast this afternoon in connection with the case. He is being questioned in a Belfast police station.
