Man arrested over misappropriation of post office funds

Gardaí in Co Wexford arrest a 37-year-old man in connection with the misappropriation of around €1.5m from a post office.

GARDAÍ IN GOREY, County Wexford, have arrested a man this morning as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged misappropriation of around €1.5m from the town’s post office.

The man was arrested in the town this morning, and is being detained at Gorey Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

An Post notified the Gardaí earlier this year about an alleged misappropriation of funds at the station. Investigations are ongoing.
