Man arrested over murder of Galway publican John Kenny

Investigation into the death of the publican and secondary school teacher last weekend continues.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the murder of Co Galway teacher and publican John Kenny.

The 56-year-old’s body was found in his family’s pub in Oughterard by relatives on Sunday afternoon. A post-mortem showed he had died as a result of assault.

Gardaí in Galway city arrested a man in his late 30s yesterday evening and are holding him for questioning at Mill Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
