Appeal after man in his 80s assaulted in aggravated burglary

Three men with weapons entered the house, demanded money and assaulted the man aged in his early 80s.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses after an elderly man was attacked in an aggravated burglary in Dublin.

It happened at Kettle’s Lane, Swords between 3am and 4am on Friday morning.

Three men with weapons entered the house, demanded money and assaulted the man aged in his early 80s.

The three men were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas. At least two of the men spoke with Dublin accents. They fled the scene with a small amount of cash.

The man was taken to Beaumont Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The scene was preserved and technically examined but no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
