Man dies after axle of truck falls on him

The incident occurred near a filling station in Co Tipperary today.

A MAN IN his early 30s has died after the axle of a truck fell on him.

The incident occurred this afternoon near a filling station in Cashel, Co Tipperary.

Gardaí said the axle of the truck fell on the man as he was working on it.

The truck had broken down and it is believed the man was the mechanic, not a driver.

The man was brought to hospital. A post-mortem is being arranged and it is understood that the Health and Safety Authority has been informed and the gardaí are investigating.
