Man charged after kicking in door and attacking McDonald's staff with pepper spray

He has been charged and is due to appear in court next week.

A 29-YEAR old man has been charged after an attack on staff members at a McDonald’s restaurant in Galway on Friday night.

Rafal Smolinski, with an address in Galway city, kicked in the glass door at the fast food restaurant and pepper sprayed staff.

It happened in the early hours of last Friday 14 March at the McDonald’s on Shop Street.

Gardaí arrived on the scene and arrested the man.

He was charged with two counts of assault causing harm, one of possession of pepper spray and one of criminal damage.

Smolinski was remanded on bail and is due to appear before Galway District Court again on 24 March.

A video of the incident on YouTube has been shared extensively by Internet users over the past 24 hours.
