Man charged with murder of mother-of-two who died at Lough Erne

The death was first thought to be an accident.

A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the murder of Luna McKinney in Fermanagh earlier this year.

The 35-year-old mother-of-two died while on a boat trip in Lough Erne in April. The family was moored for the night at a popular tourist attraction on Devenish Island.

The death was first thought to be an accident. However, a man was arrested after police carried out a review into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Serious Crime Branch have now charged the man who was arrested on Thursday.

The man has also been charged with possession of a class c controlled drug. He will appear in Omagh MC tomorrow morning.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
