Man in his 70s dies in crash between bus and car in Cork

The incident happened on the R600 at Ballinacourty at 9.55pm last night.

A MAN IN his 70s has died following a collision between a car and a bus in Belgooly, Co Cork.

The incident happened on the R600 at Ballinacourty at 9.55pm last night.

The man, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one on the bus was injured.

The body of the man has been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The road between Coolcorran, Riverstick and Lybe, Belgooly remains closed to allow for a garda collision forensic examination to take place.
