Man dies after double stabbing in Drogheda

One person remains in stable condition after yesterday afternoon’s stabbing.

ONE PERSON HAS DIED following a double stabbing incident in Drogheda, Co Louth last night.

Two people, a man and a woman, were stabbed at an apartment at the Fitzwilliam Court Apartment Complex on Dyer Street, Drogheda, shortly after 2pm yesterday.

They were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, but the man, 32, died in the early hours of this morning. A post-mortem is expected to be carried out later today.

The woman, 30, remains in stable condition in hospital and her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí investigating the stabbing incident arrested a 30-year-old man in Drogheda late last night.
