Man dies after attack in Blanchardstown

The incident happened just before midnight last night in Mulhuddart. Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.

A MAN HAS died following an attack in Blanchardstown in west Dublin just before midnight last night.

The man, 28, was seriously injured in the incident in which it is believed he may have received stab injuries outside a house at Castlecurragh Vale in Mulhuddart last night.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1am this morning, Gardaí say.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination to be carried out today and the office of the State pathologist has been notified. Marie Cassidy is expected to conduct the post mortem this afternoon.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown have appealed for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Castlecurragh Vale at Mulhuddart between 11.30pm and 12.30am to contact the station’s incident room on 01 666 7000 or the Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
