Man in his 50s dies in Galway road accident

The incident happened at Carrick East at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon.

A MAN HAS died following a single vehicle collision in Cornamona, Co Galway.

The incident happened at Carrick East at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The man in his 50s, the sole occupant in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination of the area by garda forensic collision investigators. It’s expected to remain closed until later this morning.
