A 73-YEAR-OLD MAN has died in a fire at a house in Galway late last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Lower Camus in Ros Muc just before midnight when the blaze was spotted.
The man was fatally injured in the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí said the scene is being preserved ahead of a technical examination.

There has been a campaign for 20 years to set up a fire station in South Connemara, but it looks like last year’s promises by Galway County Council are already too late coming in 2014. Camus Íochtar is 50km from the Clifden station and 46km from the nearest station in Galway City. Waiting times for ambulances are not much better either despite the fleet of ambulances that appear to be grounded in University College Hospital.
The current government are currently trying to reduce fire and ambulance services in Ireland
