Man dies in motorcycle collision in Cavan

Another man was injured after two motorbikes collided outside Cavan town last night.

A MAN HAS died after two motorbikes collided in Co Cavan last night.

A man, 31, was killed and another man, in his late 20s, suffered minor injuries after two motorbikes collided outside Cavan town.

The collision happened on the Ballinagh Road after 8pm last night. The man was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Cavan General Hospital.

The circumstances of the collision are under investigation and the road remains closed this morning pending a technical examination, gardaí say.

They are also asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or was travelling on the road between Ballinagh and Cavan town between 8pm and 8.30pm to contact them at Cavan garda station on 049 436 8800.
