28-year-old man dies in Tipperary crash

The man was a passenger in a car that hit a ditch in the early hours of this morning.

GARDAÍ IN TIPPERARY are investigating a single vehicle collision that left a 28-year-old man dead.

The incident occurred at Rathronan, Clonmel in the early hours of this morning.

At around 1.20am, the front seat passenger of the car, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was travelling in hit a ditch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a male 20 years, was taken to South Tipperary Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area between 1am and 1.30am this morning to contact them in Clonmel Garda Station on 052 – 6177640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
