Man appears in court charged with mother’s murder in Co Mayo

A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with death of mother-of-four Noreen Kelly-Eadon, whose body was found on Wednesday.

A MAN HAS APPEARED in court today charged with the murder of his 46-year-old mother.

Celyn Eadon, 19, appeared before Swinford District Court after being charged last night in connection with the murder of his mother Noreen Kelly-Eadon, 46, who was found dead in her home on Wednesday, RTE reports.

The suspect has been remanded in custody to Castlerea prison to appear before Harristown District Court on 18 March.

His solicitor has asked for a psychiatric evaluation for his client.

The body of Noreen Kelly-Eadon was discovered by her other son in the early hours of Wednesday morning at her home in Derrynacrieve, Islandeady, near Castlebar.

A post-mortem revealed she died from multiple stab wounds.
