Man found unconscious on roadside after stabbing incident

The man has been hospitalised in Cork and Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.

A MAN IS in hospital in Cork after he was stabbed and later found unconscious on a roadside in the city this afternoon.

The man in his early 30s was found on the roadside at Kerryhall Road in Fairhill in Cork City having sustained serious injuries at around 2.30pm this afternoon.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination to be carried out by Gardaí.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the Kerryhill Road area between 2pm and 2.45 pm today to contact them at Gurranabraher Garda Station on 021 494 6200 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
