Man hospitalised after being shot in his car in Kildare

The 25-year-old man was shot just before midday in Kilcock.

A MAN HAS been hospitalised after he was shot while sitting in his car in Kilcock, Co Kildare just before midday.

The 25-year-old man was shot while sitting in his car at Brayton Park in Kilcock just before 12pm today.

He was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital in Dublin where he is being treated for his injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Brayton Wood between 11.45am and 12pm.

The are also looking for anyone who may have seen a dark coloured car which was found burnt out around a kilometre from the scene in Courtown Wood in Kilcock  and/or a dark grey coloured car which was found abandoned on the M4 at the Celbridge interchange on the slip road heading eastbound towards Dublin.

Witnesses or anyone with any information has been asked to contact Leixlip Garda station on 01 6667 800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
