Man hospitalised after being shot outside his home in Kildare

The 36-year-old Polish man was shot in the leg as he left his home last night.

A MAN HAS been hospitalised after he was shot in the leg outside his home in Celbridge, Co Kildare last night.

The 36-year-old Polish man was shot in the leg as he left his home on Oldtown Road, opposite Scoil Na Mainistreach primary school, in Celbridge at around 11pm last night. Gardaí believe that a shotgun was used by his attacker.

The man was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin where he is being treated for his injuries.

An investigation is underway and Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Oldtown Road area of Celbridge last night between 10.30 and 11.30pm to contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 601 2370.
