Man in court over attempted abduction

The 40-year-old is charged in connection with an attempted abduction in Kildare last year.

A 40-YEAR-OLD man charged in connection with the attempted abduction of a family in Kildare last year will appear at a special sitting of Naas District Court this evening.

The man was arrested, along with two others, on Tuesday morning in relation to the attempted abduction of a security company employee and his wife and two-year-old son on 27 April 2011 in Kilmeade.

The armed and masked gang arrived at the employee’s home at about 5am as the employee was making his way to work. They fled the scene after a panic alarm was activated.

The three men were arrested in Dublin on 10 January. The other two men, both in their late 30s, were released without charge.
