Oklahoma man guilty of killing his stepfather with an 'atomic wedgie'

The man died after his underpants were pulled up and over his head during a fight in his trailer.

A MAN IN Pottawatomie County in Oklahoma has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter after a fight that involved pulling his stepfather’s underpants over his head, and ended in death.

Brad Lee Davis, now 34, was drinking in Denver St Clair’s trailer in the town of McLoud on 21 December, 2013, when Davis says his stepfather called his mother “worthless,” the Oklahoman reports.

The two men started fighting, blows were exchanged, and Davis performed what is often referred to as an “atomic wedgie” – pulling the older man’s underpants up and over his head.

The autopsy doctor said the elastic band of his underpants left ligature marks on his throat, and St Clair, 58, died from “blunt force trauma and/or asphyxiation,” KJRH reports.

Davis, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, was arrested and charged with murder 10 days later.

The charge was dropped to manslaughter, however, in exchange for his guilty plea.

On Monday, he told the court he had killed Denver St Clair “in the heat of passion while defending myself in a fight that got out of hand.”

Davis will be sentenced in July, and could face up to 35 years in prison.
