Pedestrian killed after being hit by car in Meath

The man was pronounced dead at scene.

A MAN DIED after being hit by a car in Meath in the early hours of this morning.

It happened on the N2 between Ashbourne and Slane at Tuiterath, Balrath at around 1:30 am.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at scene and his body has been removed to Navan Mortuary. A post mortem is to be arranged.

The N2 is currently closed between Curtis’ Cross and Rathdrinagh Cross to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Navan Garda Station on 046 9036100, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
