Man shot in both legs in Portrush

A woman and baby boy were uninjured and the man is described as being in a “serious” condition.

PSNI DETECTIVES ARE investigating after a 21-year-old man was shot while a 19-year-old woman and a baby were in the house.

A number of masked men entered a house in the Windsor Place area of Portrush shortly before 11pm and shot the man in both legs.

The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries that are described as serious.

The woman and baby boy were not injured. It is believed that the men made off on foot from the house.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with any information about this incident or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Windsor Place area last night to contact CID at Coleraine Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Alternatively, confidential tips can be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
