A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN is recovering in hospital after being shot in Dublin city last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 3.40am in the north inner city.

A lone man approached two males near Rutland Cottages, and discharged a firearm.

The injured man was rushed to the Mater Hospital after receiving injuries to his leg, but these are not thought to be live-threatening.

It is believed the man is Leroy Harris, an actor in crime series Love/Hate.

Harris’ character, Glen, featured in a controversial scene that depicted a cat being shot.

RTÉ received over 41 complaints in relation to the episode, although the station later confirmed that no animals were harmed in the making of the scene.
