Stab victim is brother of missing girl Amy Fitzpatrick

The 23-year-old has been named locally as Dean Fitzpatrick.

THE 23-YEAR-OLD victim of a fatal stabbing in Dublin 17 last night has been named as Dean Fitzpatrick, the older brother of missing teen Amy Fitzpatrick.

Gardaí investigating the killing said the victim was found with serious stab wounds at Northern Cross on the Malahide Road at about 11.20pm yesterday. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene has been sealed off pending a full technical examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued and anyone who may have information is asked to contact the local station on 01 666 4200.

Amy Fitzpatrick disappeared from Malaga in Spain on New Year’s Day 2008 when she was 15 years old. She was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Fuengirola at about 9pm. She never made it home.
