Man still being questioned over discovery of body in Co Clare

A man being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act can be held until around teatime this evening.

GARDAÍ ARE QUESTIONING a man in his 30s over the discovery of a body in Co Clare there yesterday.

The body of Eoin Ryan, 21, was discovered shortly after 7am yesterday morning. He had been stored in a barrel near a farm in Cappabeg at Barefield, just north of Ennis.

Examinations by the State Pathologist’s Office showed he had died from head injuries.

The man is being held at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, and can be held until this evening before he must be charged or released.
