Police arrest 18th person in connection with Manchester bombing

22 people were killed in the attack and dozens more were injured.

POLICE IN MANCHESTER have arrested an 18th person in connection with the Ariana Grande concert bombing in which 22 people were killed almost two weeks ago.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man on Cheetham Hill Road on suspicion of offences contrary to the terrorism act late yesterday evening.

This morning officers investigating the attack at the Manchester Arena are executing a warrant at a house on Princess Road, Moss Side.

To date 18 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation, of which six people have been released without charge. A total of 12 men remain in custody for questioning.

Police released new CCTV images of suicide bomber Salman Abedi on Friday in a bid to gain more information from the public about his movements before he detonated the bomb.

Grande will play at a star-studded benefit concert, alongside acts including Katy Perry, Coldplay and Take That, in the city tonight.
