Marlay ParkTECHNICAL ISSUES HAVE been reported at this evening’s Kasabian, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Cribs gig in Marlay Park, Dublin.
According to tweets from people at the event, sound was cut on stage one song into Noel Gallagher’s set with High Flying Birds.
Photographer Kieran Frost tweeted a photo of the stage:
Entertainment.ie reported that the power died three minutes into the High Flying Birds set, causing the band to leave the stage. When they returned after around 10 minutes, the power went again.
When the band left the stage, fans went straight to Twitter to update people on the situation.
Thankfully, the latest update from the concert is that the band have returned to the stage.
David Guetta is to perform at Marlay Park tomorrow for the first major commercial electronic dance concert in Dublin since the Swedish House Mafia event at Phoenix Park, during which nine people were stabbed.
MCD chief Denis Desmond promised earlier this week that a ‘zero tolerance’ approach would be taken to public drinking outside this gig.
He also said that special areas will be set aside at tomorrow’s gig to allow gardaí perform more intense searches of those entering Marlay Park.
Gardaí also warned that they will be permitted to carry out searches on concert-goers at this week’s Marlay Park gigs, both prior to the points of entry and within the park.
Private security will also be supplied by MCD, the concert promoter.
