Investigation as man falls to death from 5th floor window at Mater Hospital

A Garda spokesperson said the incident was being treated as a personal tragedy.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the death of a man at the Mater Hospital on Dublin’s northside overnight.

A spokesperson for the force said the incident was being treated as a personal tragedy.

It happened at around 1am, when the man fell from a window on the 5th floor of the facility, hospital sources said.

It was at the old A&E side of the hospital.

“An internal investigation is under way following the death of a patient at the hospital overnight,” the Mater said in a statement.
