FORMER SPEAKER OF the US House of Representatives Newt Gingrich accused Fox Presenter Megyn Kelly of having a “fascination with sex” during a bizarre TV exchange last night.

In response, Kelly accused Gingrich of having “anger issues”.

The pair were speaking about the upcoming presidential and senate races with Kelly suggesting that the Republican Party could lose control of the US Senate.

Trump supporter Gingrich rejected this assertion, arguing that Republicans were ahead in “early voting”.

As the conversation developed between the two, Gingrich accused the media of being biased against Trump and focusing on negative stories surrounding him.

After Kelly raised the Access Hollywood tape which showed Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault, Gingrich claimed the media paid it too much attention.

“Let me point out something to you, the three major networks spent 23 minutes attacking Donald Trump that night and 57 seconds on Hillary Clinton’s secret speeches. You don’t think this is a scale of bias?,” Gingrich said.

“If Trump is a sexual predator, that is….” Kelly responded, before Gingrich said:

He’s not a sexual predator. You could not defend that statement. Now I’m sick and tired of people using language that’s inflammatory and not true.

Kelly defended the media’s coverage of the Access Hollywood tape saying that what was contained on the tape were Trump’s own words.

But Gingrich was adamant that the media’s focus on the story was proof of “bias”.

“If you want to go back through the tapes of your show recently, you are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy. That’s what I get out of watching you tonight,” he said.

“You know, Mr Speaker, I’m not fascinated by sex but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office,” Kelly responded.

Gingrich then pushed Kelly on allegations that Bill Clinton is a sexual predator. The presenter said such allegations have been covered on her show.
