Parts of Melbourne Airport evacuated after security alert directed at airline

MELBOURNE AIRPORT IS reporting a security alert directed at one of its airlines.

Parts of the airport have been affected by the alert. The airport said that the alert was directed at Tigerair:

Tigerair, meanwhile, said that it is working with emergency services to resolve the situation ASAP. It apologised to affected passengers.

A passenger on board a Tigerair plane tweeted that there had been announcement of a possible bomb threat at the airport:

This specific threat has not been confirmed by Melbourne airport.

The man later tweeted that he was able to disembark his plane.
