Two men arrested after shots fired at Dublin house

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two men after a firearm was discharged at a house in Fairview last night.

Gardaí received a report that shots had been fired at a house on Inverness Road at around 11.30pm last night.

On arrival it was discovered that a shot had been fired at an upstairs bedroom window from outside causing it to smash. There were four occupants in the house at the time, but none in the targeted room. Nobody was injured.

In a follow-up operation shortly afterwards, two men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, were arrested in Donabate. The men are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Swords and Clontarf Garda Stations.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.
