Two men arrested over burglary offences after signal devices found

It’s believed items found in the search may have been used in the course of, or in connection with, theft or burglary.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in Dublin city centre in connection with burglary related offences after gardaí stopped and searched a car.

The men, aged 28 and 30, were taken into custody yesterday afternoon at around 12:15pm yesterday.

A number of items were recovered in the search which gardaí believe may have been used in the course of, or in connection with, theft or burglary.

During a follow up search of a premises in Dublin 6 and Dublin 8, gardaí recovered more items of this nature.

It’s understood that the objects may be signal devices.

There have been multiple reports in recent years of crime gangs importing such items – which can be used to gain access to cars or homes by jamming or blocking alarm systems.

The two men were taken to Store Street Garda station for questioning, where they can be held for up to 24 hours.

The arrests were made as part of of Operation Thor.
