Man tied up and tasered by axe-wielding masked burglars

The three perpetrators took money, jewellery and a BMW car during the incident.

TWO MEN MEN were tied up and one was tasered by axe-wielding burglars last night.

Detectives in North Belfast are appealing for information after a report of an aggravated burglary at a residential premises in the North Circular Road area of the city on Sunday 9 March.

They said that at around 10.55pm, it was reported that three masked men entered a house in the area.

Tied up in a bedroom

One man was armed with what was described as a long barrelled weapon, another man was armed with an axe, and the third man was armed with a taser.

A male who was in the house at the time of the incident is believed to have been tied up in an upstairs bedroom.

Another male in his 20′s, who was also upstairs in the house during the incident, is believed to have been tied up, assaulted by the butt of the firearm and tasered during the incident.

His injuries are not believed to be serious.

The males left the property with a sum of money, a quantity of jewellery and the family’s black BMW 318 car. The car was last seen heading towards the Divis, West Belfast area.

The occupants of the house, although not seriously injured, are believed to have been left very badly shaken. Inquiries are continuing.
