Woman arrested over shooting of Michael Barr at Sunset House pub

The woman, aged in her 30s, was detained this morning.

A WOMAN HAS been arrested in connection with the killing of dissident republican Michael Barr at the Sunset House pub in Dublin’s north inner city in April.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was detained this morning. She’s being held at the Bridewell garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Barr, a 34-year-old originally from Tyrone, was gunned down on the evening of 25 April at the Summerhill pub.

He was suspected of being a senior figure in the dissident republican movement.

A 29-year-old man has already appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice charged with his murder.

Eamonn Cumberton, of Mountjoy Street, Dublin 1, was granted free legal aid on his first court appearance, at the end of last month. He was further remanded in custody at a court hearing last Friday.

Comments have been disabled as the matter is before the courts.
