MINIs are getting a little bit of an interior facelift

MINI model range updated with enhanced cockpit instrument design, improved functionality and Apple CarPlay.

MINI IS UPDATING the interior of its model line-up this summer with a range of new design, functionality and infotainment improvements.

From July 2017, all new MINIs will feature an enhanced cockpit instrument with a new night design with the numbers and letters appearing in white rather than orange.

This new colour scheme will also apply to the head-up display (HUD) whilst driving in the dark. Individual height settings for the HUD will be stored in the personal profile on the vehicle key, as will the settings for the exterior mirrors and the electrically adjustable seats.

There will also be a new fuel level indicator with an enhanced and more precise display, making it easier to read fuel level details.

Changing driving modes will now be done from a toggle switch located underneath the air conditioning controls. With a flick of this switch you can go from Green to Sport mode.

The MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will offer Apple CarPlay for cars with higher specs. Apple CarPlay connects your iPhone allowing apps to be displayed and operated on the central display.

The MINI three-door Hatch, MINI 5-door Hatch and MINI Convertible models will get an alertness assistant with the optional MINI Visual Boost screen, MINI Navigation or MINI Navigation XL.

This system continuously analyses how the vehicle is driven and if the distance covered or the driver’s behaviour suggests that the driver may be losing concentration, the system encourages the driver to take a break with a graphic displayed on the central display screen.
