Search for missing student Michael Bugler in Galway into its sixth day

Michael Bugler was last seen in the Quay Street area of Galway early on Friday morning.

THE FAMILY OF a 20-year-old student who’s been missing since a night out last Thursday are making a direct appeal for people who may have spoken to him in The Quays pub.

Michael Bugler was last seen in the Quay Street area of Galway city on Friday at around 1am.

He has not been seen since despite numerous searches which have included the use of the coast guard helicopter out of Shannon.

CCTV footage has shown Michael passing the Claddagh church at 00.58am and it appears that he was on his way home to Fairhill Road.

The 20-year-old is originally from Ennis but has been living in Galway and is currently in his third year studying law at NUIG.

His sister wrote on Facebook today that his family believes both he and his friend were speaking to another group of male students in The Quays bar on the night he disappeared. They are asking them to come forward if they have not already done so.

The Rescue 115 helicopter based out of Shannon was today involved in a sea and coastal search as part of the rescue effort.
