Jones had been missing since last week. She has been taken to Sligo General Hospital but her injuries are not life threatening.

THE US CITIZEN who went missing in Donegal last week has been found alive this afternoon.

Gardaí in the local area confirmed to TheJournal.ie that Kelly Jones, 41, was found alive at around 12.30pm today.

The American woman was located by members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue in a disused rectory in the Glen Valley in Glencolmcille, according to the Donegal Democrat.

She is reported to be “weak and disorientated” and has been airlifted Sligo General Hospital. Her injuries are not said to be serious.

Jones, from the state of Georgia, had been on holiday in Ireland and had been reported missing from Kinakillew in Glencolmcille, Co Donegal since Saturday morning.

An extensive search, co-ordinated by the Donegal Mountain Rescue and the gardaí, had been carried out.
