Man's body found in car at bottom of embankment after crash

Gardaí are now looking for information about the incident.

A MAN IN his 40s has been killed in a road crash on the N12 in Monaghan this evening.

At approximately 5pm a 4×4 vehicle was discovered at the bottom of an embankment on the N12 at Tyholland. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed and a post-mortem examination is due to be held at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, tomorrow.

Gardaí said road will remain closed overnight to facilitate a technical examination of the scene and diversions are in place.
