New police appeal over live mortar find

The PSNI has asked people who noticed a white Citroen Berlingo van or Hond CBR motorcycle on the Letterkenny Road yesterday to contact them.

DETECTIVES FROM THE PSNI serious crime branch investigating the discovery of four live mortars in Derry are appealing to people who may have seen two vehicles yesterday.

The mortars were found in a van on the Letterkenny Road, Derry last night, Sunday 3 March.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed a white Citroen Berlingo Van, registration number 99D 88526 and a black Honda CBR motorcycle, registration number LIB 3341 in the area.

Anyone with information on these vehicles is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
